A liquid laundry soap is often prefered by those with hard water when dry soaps won't dissolve well. 
Follow your machine directions for fabrics and load size. 
Keep in mind that most top loading machines need more soap than front loading machines. 
 
DIRECTIONS: Use 1/4 cup of liquid laundry soap for medium sized loads. Less for smaller loads and up to 1/2 cup for large loads for front loading washers. If you have stains, you might want to pretreat with a stain remover prior to laundering. Follow the directions according to your machine.
Top loading machines will require more soap. This is a low sudsing soap.
